G J.R. Sweezy and CB Jeremy Lane both did not practice with the team after not appearing on the injury report Wednesday. This indicates they likely suffered their injuries during Wednesday's practice.
Lane was listed with an ankle injury while Sweezy was listed as suffering from a concussion.
Sweezy's injury would immediately appear to be the more concerning of the two in regards to their availability to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. With a concussion, Sweezy will have to go through the league's concussion protocol in order to be cleared to play.
With the injury happening mid-week, there is significantly less time available to clear the tests necessary to play. Where Lane's injury could easily go all the way to game time to see if it's good enough to play, Sweezy won't have that luxury.
It's unclear what Seattle would do to shuffle their offensive line if Sweezy is unable to play. G Paul McQuistan and G James Carpenter have played exclusively on the left side of the line this season. While McQuistan could slide over, the Seahawks could elect to insert T Michael Bowie, T Alvin Bailey or C Lemuel Jeanpierre into the right guard position instead. All three are capable of playing guard.
Lane's injury is also concerning if he's unable to play. The Seahawks would be down to recently promoted CB/S DeShawn Shead or free agent signing CB Perrish Cox to take over in the slot cornerback role. Cox has more experience playing the position than Shead and could be who Seattle would turn to in that scenario.
Backup RB Robert Turbin was also a new addition to the injury report with a groin injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday. If he is unable to play, rookie RB Christine Michael could factor in to get some added work this week.
