RENTON - The Seattle Seahawks had to watch as several members of their Super Bowl champion defense sign with other teams in the early stages of free agency.

Now they get to keep one of their own.

A source confirmed the Seahawks have reached a deal with defensive tackle Tony McDaniel. The deal was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.

Per reports, McDaniel will get a two-year deal from Seattle worth a maximum of $6.3 million.

Seattle signed McDaniel to a one-year contract last season worth only the veteran minimum, but also gave him the chance to be a starter for the first time in his career.

McDaniel started 15 of 16 games for the Seahawks and racked up 53 tackles and two sacks for Seattle last season.

McDaniel played primarily on early downs as a part of Seattle's bigger front along with DT Brandon Mebane and DE Red Bryant. With Bryant, DT Clinton McDonald and DE Chris Clemons all moving on, keeping McDaniel helps Seattle keep some continuity along the defensive line.
